What is EMS SOAP?

EMS SOAP is an AI-powered documentation platform built specifically for EMS professionals. It transforms voice dictation or text input into complete, compliant ePCR narratives — including medical necessity language — in under a minute per call.

EMS SOAP is trained on your agency's specific medical protocols, ensuring that generated narratives reference the correct procedures, dosages, and standards of care for your organization.

Creating Your Account

  1. Navigate to emssoap.com/sign-up and enter your email address and a password (minimum 8 characters).
  2. Check your email for a verification link and click it to confirm your account.
  3. Sign in at emssoap.com/sign-in with your credentials.

No credit card is required to create an account. If your agency has a pilot program, you will be invited by your organization manager and can follow the link in your invitation email.

HIPAA & Compliance

Before accessing AI-powered features (ePCR Narratives and Medical Protocols), you must review and accept the HIPAA acknowledgment. This is a one-time confirmation that appears when you first navigate to either feature. Once confirmed, you will have full access to all chat-based features.

Compliance Status

EMS SOAP is not yet HIPAA certified. We are actively pursuing both SOC 2 Type 2 and HIPAA compliance, targeting completion by Q2 2026.

Our platform is designed from the ground up to avoid handling Protected Health Information (PHI). Users input only de-identified clinical data — age, gender, chief complaint, vitals, and treatments. No patient names, dates of birth, addresses, or other identifiers are required. Our client-side PII detection layer blocks any identifiable information before it ever leaves the user's device.

Once SOC 2 and HIPAA certifications are complete, we will be able to execute Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) with agencies that require them. In the meantime, agencies can evaluate the platform using de-identified scenarios with zero compliance risk. Your First Narrative

  1. Navigate to Narratives from the sidebar.
  2. Either type your patient encounter details into the text input, or click the microphone icon to dictate using voice (up to 3 minutes per recording).
  3. Click Send to submit your input. The AI will generate a complete narrative in seconds.
  4. Review the generated narrative. You can ask follow-up questions to refine or add details.
  5. Click Copy to copy the narrative to your clipboard, then paste it into your ePCR system (works with Zoll, ImageTrend, ESO, and any other system).

Voice Dictation

EMS SOAP uses medical-grade voice transcription (Deepgram Nova-3-Medical) optimized for EMS terminology. To use voice dictation:

  • Click the microphone icon in the chat input area.
  • Grant microphone permissions when prompted by your browser.
  • Speak naturally — the system understands EMS abbreviations (SOB, CP, IV, DNR, etc.) and medical terminology.
  • Recordings have a 3-minute limit per session. Click the microphone again or wait for the timer to stop recording.
  • Your transcript appears in the text input area where you can edit it before sending.

System Requirements

  • Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge (latest versions recommended).
  • Internet: Stable internet connection required for AI generation and voice transcription.
  • Microphone: Required for voice dictation. Browser must have microphone permission granted.
  • Devices: Works on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
